The word "Taleni" stems from the indigenous Oshiwambo language and means "to view or see". The name is supported by the majestic fish eagle, the national bird of Namibia, with its uncanny eyesight.

Desert Camp is an absolute must for the nature lover and photographers. Situated a mere 5 kilometres from Sesriem and the entrance gate to Sossusvlei. Nestled under centuries old thorn trees, Desert Camp has an unsurpassed 360 degrees view over the desert landscape and surrounding mountains.
For groups traveling together, a cosy self-catering communal boma with cooking and wash up facilities is provided and can be booked with reservations. A fully stocked and serviced bar is available at the main building, as well as a sparkling swimming pool and big-screen TV.
For the budget traveller, this offers true African ambience. Affordable luxury accommodation comprises twenty units, each with en-suite bathroom, twin beds , verandah with kitchenette and barbeque facility.
